Airbag light has come on several times and each time I have taken the vehicle to the dealership for repair. They have replaced the seat bottom and even rewired the car, but the airbag continues to come on and stays on. Due to the ongoing issue, dates and mileage are estimates and do not necessarily reflect the first date of the original issue.
The contact owns a 2008 Kia Sportage. While driving 30 mph, the clockspring malfunctioned without warning and the air bag light remained illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed as needing the clockspring replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 154,000.
Another vehicle turned in front of me and my car impacted the other vehicles passenger side. There was no air bag deployment. My Kia Sportage was declared totaled.
