2008 Lincoln MKX- problem has happened 3 times. After driving slowly with multiple start and stops- heavy traffic, the car doesn't want to go faster than 10-15 mph when pressing gas. Am afraid to press too hard in case the pedal "kicks in" and I go flying into car in front. After stopping car and sometimes turning off for a time, car works just fine. Sometimes when problem happens it feels like a mule kick to the back end of vehicle.
Have taken in 2 times to be repaired, but no one can get it to happen again. 1st time had internal speed sensors replaced - 1100.00-1200.00$. Yuck! 2nd time, 1 year later, replaced again -no charge. 3rd time happened just this weekend - it hasn't been very long since last attempted repair. I guess it's not the sensors. My recpt. for repairs stamped with wording to the effect-not able to repair again- see dealership...
As there is no warning when it will happen - I am afraid I will be killed with kids in car - back and forth to school- many busy roads and interstate. Any one else have a solution to this problem.?
