There is absolutely NO REASON why an Aluminum hood should have corrosion on it, especially when the corrosion started from under the clear coat paint and primer. My Lincoln has only 37,385 miles on the car. I take extra special care on this car, I'm a firm believer in preventative maintenance. I purchased a Premium Care ESP that covers basically everything - it even covers defects in materials and workmanship and normal wear and tear. But for some reason the hood isn't covered until 2027 like everything else is. I would think this is A DEFECT IN THE MATERIAL AND WORKMANSHIP. Had I known the hood might fall apart, I would have extended the corrosion warranty. My dad's Cadillac is 2 years older than mine and his aluminum hood is in perfect condition. FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR 22 YEARS.
