The fan for the defroster does not come on as long the temperature is below freezing. Even after the car has been warmed and running for for several hours, the fan is only on fast enough to defrost the window IF there is only one person in the vehicle. As the vehicle was a gift, I cannot ask the previous owners what gives, but I have experienced the problem prior to owning it. The intake was replace in late 2008 with no problems. (the rad fan had shorted out and had be re-wired so it works fine)
