The idea of manual (serpentine belt) tensioning is so outdated recently but Toyota seems to get along so well......

Even theoretically (in simple physics), in the manual system there is nothing to compensate for the differences in temperature and the contraction and expansion of the pulleys (changes in the size of diameters) and the resulting looseness and tightness of the belt. So a lot of modern cars come with an auto-tension-er. Unfortunately Toyota, that has a (very) good fame about endurance, fuel economy, etc, has made me and my family disappointed about an issue which could be easily prevented on the drawing board and even now.

Since my wife bought the car in 2010, I took the car to the dealership several times but they could never have a way out. The famous Toyota is probably most famous when we start it in the underground parking and it plays the melody of the (age) gone days, screeches, high pitch noise... in winter and the summer.... so our neighbors sometimes make meaningful smiles and we have to just ignore because we have no way...If we take the little elephant to the doctor the doctor will say it is just normal. BUT I wonder if there is a ground for installing the tension-er? If so I will either have a mechanic install it for me or even myself do it because as we know there WILL BE NO RECALLS FOR REAL ISSUES.....
