The contact owns a 2011 Volkswagen Cc. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 17V509000 (fuel system, gasoline). The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called West houston Volkswagen at 281-675-8600 (17113 katy fwy, houston, tx 77094) and was informed that the parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. While driving at an unspecified speed, the vehicle lost power and stalled. The vehicle was towed to the same Volkswagen dealer, at the recommendation of the manufacturer, and the fuel control module was replaced. The contact was informed that the part was not the recall remedy. The failure recurred three times and the same part was replaced by the same dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

While driving my steering wheel controls stopped functioning to include my horn, airbag, esp, and traction control. After researching the web I found this is a common issue on all VW models and occurs around 40,000 miles. Apparently the VW clockspring in the steering column assembly has a design flaw, and there is no recall at this time.

Driving at 65 mph suddenly the steering wheel system was blocked. Become very hard to move the steering wheel & also very noise when I was trying to move it. The car was took to dealer and they said. That the steering gear box failed. Later on the customer service free phone line of VW said that was a quality issue. They said are not legally responsible because is not within warranty period. Cc VW car seems very unsafe car.
