So this is the forth issue with this car.

So to date, I have replaced the following on a car bought in Dec 2012.

1) Rear Hatch control module 2) In-Tank fuel pump 3) Primary Fuel Pump 4) Contact switch on brake petal for cruise control

To be fair, this issue happened less than 2000 miles after the 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, and VW did take care of the issue. So good for VW to fix a poor quality part in their supply chain.

For sake of record, this car has been maintained at Dealer as per specified by VW. So skimping, I took the car in.

I did ask VW to extend their bumper to bumper warranty, but they declined. This lack of confidence by VW has shaken my faith in VW. I owned a Jetta for around 125K miles, bought used and sold to buy this car. What a mistake, my 165K Jetta was more reliable.

Not sure what VW is attempting with playing in a luxury SUV market with a product that has issues, but I have my SUV back, and contemplating a switch. I really enjoy the car, but did VW overextended and not watching quality along the way.

For $45K, I would expect a couple of years of hassle free driving, I have had more visits with this car than my last 5 used cars combined.
