The VIN was associated with NHTSA campaign number: 18V907000 (fuel system, gasoline, engine). The manufacturer had not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 86,700,
The contact owned a 2014 Kia Sorento. After the vehicle was parked for five hours, the fuel tank caught fire without warning. The vehicle was destroyed. No injuries were reported. The fire department confirmed that the fuel tank caused the fire. The failure mileage was 21,000.
Tried to accelerate to make left turn, gas pedal went to floor, no response for 4 seconds then took off. This has happened 7 times in the week I started keeping a log. It happens at slow speed either trying to accelerate straight rn. Tuor starting a left.
