While driving or going over bumps there were noises. Also, while backing out of driveway the steering was very stiff to turn, and when driving forward there was a smell of burning rubber. Stopped vehicle, and had it towed to service repair shop. The front right coil spring broke and was digging into the tire, causing the rubber smell. The service manager said the tire had not been damaged enough that it would need to be replaced, but the front right coil spring would have to be replaced. Both front coil springs were replaced. Since the repair there were no problems. Did contact the dealer, who said they were not aware of anything.

The vehicle started riding lower in the front and making knocking sounds whenever it went over a bump. We took it to the dealer and they advised us that both front springs had broken and the whole shock tower/spring assemblies had to be replaced as the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The parts were relaced at my costs as Acura said the vehicle was off warrenty at 120,000 kms. After repeated negotiations with the dealer and Honda Canada we gor a dealer credit of 100% of the cost of the repairs as part of the negotiations I had to return both assemblies to Honda Canada and I do not know how they were disposed off.
