Purchased the car used 3 years ago with 47,000+ miles, One week after purchase I had no head lights. Returned car to dealership - took them 4 days to find problem. Lights work. Then drivers side rear light stopped working. Returned to dealership again. Told the bulb needed replacing. Did that. Reverse light went out - returned to dealership again. Told the socket needed replacing. Did that.June 15, 2013 I had a dead battery. ABS icon came on after receiving hot shot and stayed on until I reached the dealership 20 miles away. Power windows would not work. Convertible top not working. Radio not working.Nothing in the car was left on, but when the jumper cables were connected there was sparks. Lights are set to Auto, but, Maryland law states you must have your lights on when it is raining, so at times had to turn lights on manually. Can it be the light control switch shorting out the electrical system? I have had the car for 3 years this month . Mileage is 55,000+. Carmax history did not indicate any problems. Did Audi have any recalls related to this problem. Given German history for perfection, I am surprised by this problem.
