Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The contact owns a 2006 Audi A4. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The failure was diagnosed as a failed fuel pump, a worn intake camshaft, and a faulty camshaft follower. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.

Car hesitated under acceleration at highway speeds resulting in total loss of power. Car continued to have acceleration and idling problems. Issues due to cam follower wearing prematurely causing major damage to high pressure fuel pump, intake and exhaust cams, damage to engine requiring total engine replacement.
