Takata recall. The contact owns a 2017 Audi Q5. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 18V082000 (air bags); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair as the recall notice was received over a year ago. The dealer (williams auto world, 2845 E saginaw St, lansing, mi 48912, (517)-484-1341) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was contacted several times and was unable to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

We rear-ended a semi truck while driving on a highway as traffic began to slow. The entire front end of our vehicle was badly damaged. The airbags did not deploy and the pretensioners on the drivers seatbelt did not engage. The speed at which we were traveling is unknown but likely more than 15 miles per hour and less than 40 miles per hour. The driver looked away from the road briefly and rear-ended the truck ahead. We are extremely concerned that our airbags and seatbelt did not engage. The driver hit her head on the steering wheel and the passengers knees were jammed into the glove compartment.
