The contact owns a 2010 Buick Lacrosse. The contact stated while driving 35 mph the steering became progressively loose and loud whenever the vehicle made a left turn. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer checked the power steering pump and noticed that it was damaged and that it also had loose wiring from the chassis. The dealer replaced the power steering pump and repaired the loose wiring. The contact has not had a problem with the steering since the repair. The contact also stated that while driving 55 mph he heard a loud bang underneath the vehicle. As a result of the loud bang the vehicle lost all power and the contact coasted to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to a dealer who stated that the reversal belt on the transmission feel off. The vehicle was being dealer being repaired by the dealer. The contact stated this vehicle is very unsafe to drive. The failure mileage was 18,199.

I filed a complaint on 13 September 2010 under ODI id number : 10355399. I have recently learned, from the Buick service representative at hennessey Buick, that the mechanic took the transmission apart and what he found was that the 'reverse belt' fell off, disabling the vehicle. The service rep indicated that he had not heard of this happening before.
