Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

LaCrosse 6-cyl

  • 1,206 miles
The problem has occurred three times. While driving on the highway at 45 to 50 mph the car suddenly downshifts causing the motor to accelerate while the vehicle slows down and when the accelerator is completely released the speed is quickly reduced like the brake is being maintain a speed of 25 to 30 mph the motor RPM has to be in the 3500 range. This condition remains until the vehicle is stopped and then it returns back to normal operations. This vehicle was returned to the dealer for correction but they spent two days and never did find the problem. That's why I'm sending this to you.
