I have never been so frustrated over a problem such as the back light panel falling away from my car. I took such great care of my CTS, Kept it in garage, only has 66,000 miles on it. Who would think a Cadillac would have had such a cheap panel. You pay for quality and you get a cheap plastic glued on part, it's just disheartening. I am disgusted, and think Cadillac should pay for the repairs that have to be made.

They should stand behind their cars, man up and pay for the cost of repair!

Half of plastic cover on license plate fell off after glue loosened. The dealership says I have to buy whole insert for $680 and also pay extra to install it and paint it the color of the car. This is outrageous!!! After the price of the car, you would think you could buy just a plastic cover for your plate. Just wrong!!!!!!!

I am unable to find the plastic piece anywhere. However, the only thing available is the combo light assay. When all said and done it this part will cost around $650.00 and they said it would have to be painted to match which is another $350.00. The cost of labor is not included in these prices.

This is definitely a recall part. I had a neighbor tell me his fell of 3 years ago and to keep an eye on mine. I did until recently when it just magically fell off. It is very embarrassing driving around like this. Does anyone know where I can find this part besides stealing it from another CTS! I'm kidding!!!!!

I'm very disappointed that a apart as simple as a piece of plastic can't be replaced. I'm quite ashamed to drive my car, now. What do I do? I've checked auto stores, wreckage yards and online. Absolutely, nothing.....I'm quite displeased with the outcome. CTS car ower's this is definitely a recall problem.

As much as you pay for a Cadillac then you are embarrassed to drive it around because the plastic light cover on the trunk has fallen off, now it looks like a piece of crap going down the road. People probably look at me like you can't even afford to fix your caddy, you shouldn't have one. When the truth is I would love to put a sign, 'It's because GM don't make that plastic part'. It should be a recall.

Every time I pass a CTS that has that kind of back it is gone too. That's ridiculous. And when you do try to take it in they have the nerve to tell me I must have had that customized and tell me they don't have that part, but for $750.00 plus the cost to paint it to match my car they can replace the whole back. I just want to scream, I bought it with the plastic cover and GM should have to recall it and make the part to fix it...

If anyone has a fix, I would live to know. I have always garage kept this car and really taken care of it, then this happens. Shame on GM, this isn't just a one time thing, you see them missing on all of this year CTS usually...

In total agreement with the others that have been screwed over by Cadillac. Really don't like having to get a lawyer to handle this, but might be only course of action, since Cadillac won't take care of the problem.

It is silly and terrible to have a piece of plastic unavailable for replacement when the only other repair is to replace the entire part connected to it. the infamous grill is only $325.00!! for part. this part was quoted to me at starting at $600.00!! THIS IS FROM DEALER. this problem did not just start, it started being listed on the internet 1 year after being sold. After I saw my problem, just about every CTS with this part is missing. I believe A class action suit would not be inappropriate

rear bezel cover fell off

I had a problem with the plastic plate of the rear reverse lights coming off. When I went to the dealer to find info on how to replace it, they said they don't sell the single piece I needed, that I would have to buy the entire replacement kit and piece I already had. The dealer wanted 680.00 for the part. It seems to be wasted time and money to buy something I don't need. I found a salvage piece that could give me the piece for 475.00 but still it's more than I would like to spend for the bad craftsmanship.

I believe by now GM should have made a not so costly solution for its customers for this widely known 2003 Cadillac CTS defect. I have been reading about this same problem all over the internet. The plastic cover falling off the back of my car made my attractive car quickly become a not so attractive, or desirable car. When I checked into the price to replace this plastic piece I was quoted ridiculous prices for such an easy fix. I believe the customers should not be held responsible for the poor craftsmanship on this model (2003 Cadillac CTS).

SHOULD BE A RECALL! Ridiculous that Cadillac ONLY wants to sell you the ENTIRE license plate cover unit- when ONLY the simple snap on PLASTIC piece is NEEDED!!!!What makes matters more frustrating is that its impossible to find the plastic piece because its such a common issue! RECALL on this piece is LONG OVERDUE!!!! SHAME ON CADILLAC!!!!

the plastic plate covering lisence and lights fell off my 2003 cts cadillac, I know this would be expensive to replace , have looked for a used one with no luck . I have had several cadillacs in my lifetime, this one has been a pain, the key fob does not work, the LED lights went out on the back. the radio quit working, the plastice plate fell off, had to replace heater core, but the heater still does not work properly, lost 2 center caps from wheels, I am a 64 year old widow, have to keep the car, it only has 60,000 miles on it and has been well taken care of. very depressin!!!!

The rear bezel cover fell off of the vehicle. After extensive reasearch I discovered that the entire bezel must be replaced at a cost of over 700.00. I also found, that do to the fact literally thousands of other people had this same problem, that no used part was available anywhere in the u.s at this time. Don't let G.M (government motors) tell you otherwise.

After returning from a short trip, we noticed the piece of plastic covering the license plate lights was missing. We called our Cadillac Dealership Service Dept. in Richmond, Va to make an appointment to bring the car in and have the strip of plastic replaced on our 2003 Cadillac CTS with 50,556 miles on it. We were told we could no longer get the plastic replacement, but would have to have a new module installed with new back-up lights and a matching paint job on the module. We realized then that this was the correction for a design flaw and that instead of Cadillac paying for this change, as in a recall, we the car owners were stuck with this expense.

We have owned many GM cars and so have our sons. We always believed Gm to be fair and ethical when it came to its customers. This problem with the plastic covering coming off is not the customers fault and the customer should not be liable for the new and expensive replacement part. The charge for this was $777.32; we are senior citizens who have been devastated by the current economic woes and did not have the money for this unneccessary and unfair expense. Shame on you GM.

rear bezel cover fell off

This little plastic cover fell off. GM has quoted almost $1500. to replace. As GM said they have to replace part of the trunk. According to GM if a pane fell out of a window, they can't replace the pane, but want to replace the whole window. It is a rip off to have to spend that kind of money on a small plastic part. If I could just get the plastic part, I have a mechanic who could install it easily and guarantees it wouldn't fall off again. I have found another Cadillac owner with same problem, who luckily was able to find the plastic cover and glued it back on again. According to GM I am the only Cadillac owner with this problem, but I don't believe them, I would like to find other owners with the same problem. I have tried auto wreckers, but they want $500. for the whole trunk + shipping. Hard to believe that a Cadillac with only 72,000km has a part falling off while driving along, & GM wants to make a gigantic profit from their poor workmanship
