Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

2007 Escalade tail gate came open on its own all cargo spilled onto the street. The car was in gear moving thru an intersection. This has happened once, then I stopped driving the vehicle I contacted cad they did not seem too interested or concerned because vehicle has 60K miles and is out of warranty.

Escalade

  • 70,000 miles
I have a Cadillac Escalade 2007 AWD. It has 70,000 miles on it and the chrome plated interior door handles have peeled off exposing sharp edges. Both the passenger and the driver interior door handles have exposed sharp edges. Through normal use, the chrome has peeled. There has been no abuse to them. These sharp edges have cut my finger once and also passenger fingers on three occasions. The cut is worse than a paper cut. They average about 1.5 inches. Nothing has been done to correct the failure as I am out of bumper to bumper warranty.
