Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The contact owns a 2006 Cadillac Sts. While driving various speeds, the steering warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The failure occurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing, but the failure could not duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact attempted to pull the vehicle over, but lost control and drove into a ditch. The frontal air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained injuries to her nose and broke her right ankle. The manufacturer filed case number 71741801936. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a body shop and will be repaired. The current and failure mileages were 27,000. Updated 10/06/09.
