The service airbags warning appeared on my car. It was just parked for 2 days and when I got in it turned on. This is a common issue that has occurred with multiple people.

Air bag light came on and the dic indicates the air bag requires service. Upon investigation, the passenger presence sensor in the passenger seat is shot. The air bags are disabled and it's a thousand dollar repair at the dealer. Rarely does anybody sit in the passenger seat. It appears that this passenger side sensor is a common failure in other GM models as well.

. this is my first time owning a Cadillac and I must say I absolutely love it! it is a 2007 Sts so it is older but in excellent condition with only around 65,000 miles on it. However I have been very recently disappointed by the service response from my airbag malfunction. I recently noticed my air bag light sensor was intermittently turning on and off and immediately brought it into earnhardt Cadillac of scottsdale for fear of a safety issue. I received a call from steven from services who explained that the wiring harness would have to be replaced before he could even further diagnose the air bag wiring issue. He explained that the air bag would most likely not deploy in an accident. He explained that the harness itself would be $485 and only once he repaired that would he be able to further evaluate the air bag issue. I asked if Cadillac stands behind the repair of such a safety concern and he said only under the warranty and also stated there was no recalls on this car model. I was very disappointed to hear a car with such low mileage would have such a horrific safety issue that Cadillac is not willing to repair or replace. I'm reaching out to you to see if indeed that is the case or if Cadillac would be willing to repair this safety hazard. I had a Honda several years ago and the air bag was replaced immediately for the safety of all drivers and passengers. I'm hoping Cadillac would stand behind its reputation and do the same. It appears as if there are several identical complaints about this car model and even some horrific damage to passengers when the air bag did not deploy. This safety issue needs to be recalled and addressed immediately.

2007 Cadillac Sts. Consumer writes in regards to airbag sensor indicator light repair/cost issues. The consumer was informed the air bag sensor which was causing the air bag light to illuminate was not covered and it would cost $ $850.

Passenger air bag warning light - dealer will not fix for less than $800. Same issue as 2007 Cadillac cts. See below. This was a company car built early for employee evaluation. I am sure it was the same seat system General Motors is recalling certain model year 2005-2007 Cadillac cts vehicles. Some of these vehicles have a condition in which repeated flexing of the passenger sensing system mat in the front passenger seat may cause the mat to kink, bend, or fold. This flexing can break the connections in the mat. If this occurs, the sensor may not detect the presence of a front seat passenger and will disable the air bag.

I replace my airbag sensor in the passenger seat, this is a $600 part. On year later this part needs to be replaced again. When reading the GM Cadillac forum this has been a problem for Cadillac for sometime. Failure of this part can result in the airbag not deploying in an accident.

When the car is started the service air bag light stays on. I have to shut the car off and exit the car re-enter re-seat myself and my passenger(wife) several times. Sometimes the error goes away and sometime it does not. This car has the same problems the 2007 Cadillac cts had and there was a recall. The dealer tells me this message states that the air bag will not deploy. If the air bag systems used in the 2007 cts (recalled) are the same as used in the 2007 Sts, the recall should have included the 2007 Sts. Just my thought please help thank you in advance

The contact owns a 2007 Cadillac Sts. While driving approximately 25 mph, the contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle. Theair bags did not deploy. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and declared destroyed. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

The contact owns a 2007 Cadillac Sts. While driving approximately 45 mph and when a when a passenger was in the seat the passenger side air bag light was off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer three times. Once the dealer calibrated the sensor, a second time they advised him that they could not duplicated the failure. After leaving the dealership the failure happened again. He took the vehicle back to the dealer who stated that he performed a diagnostic test but the vehicle showed no failures. He called the manufacturer and they referred him back to the dealer. The failure had occurred since last month. The vehicle was at the dealer when the complaint was filed. The failure mileage was 26,025 and the current mileage was 26,900.
