Again, a problem hardly worth mentioning. The driver side door doesn't seal completely after a bit of wear and tear. I guessed at the problem's start date since I found this website recently and have been putting up with it for years. Basically, when you shut the door in a perfectly functioning vehicle, the door presses against a button that turns off the trunk light, and overhead light if its set to auto. In this case the driver door doesn't quite reach the button, thus, the trunk light stays on and overhead light.

Solution: Duct tape the interior of the door to give the door that extra 1/10 of an inch or so to make contact with the button. Add more duct tape as time goes on.

Note: This problem can be serious if your battery is low to begin with or have a parasitic draw. Think the straw that broke the camel's back. It's not much fun when it's 2 degrees Fahrenheit with high winds and your car doesn't start due to your battery being dead due to this. Otherwise, you might not even notice it.

Update from May 5, 2015: I'm adding some photos to show. The first photo is of the duct tape on the side of the door. This is supposed to make contact with the button shown in photo #2. W/o contact the led idiot light remains on in photo three. Finally, the trunk light remains on shown in photo four.
