This car almost killed my Mom. She bought it brand new in 2008 and has had nothing but problems with the electric of the car and the computer. On Friday June 30 she had come home from picking my young sister up at airport. They had stopped the car, turned it off and taken all of the things out of the trunk. Sandy was going to say something to Mom and as Mom turned the car back on it gave a terrible roar and went right through the walls of the garage to the yard 40 feet away, before it just stopped and shook and then blew up the engine. They got Mom out. By the way she laid rubber that the tires were flat and Mom is 87 years old, never had an accident in 70 years of driving. The garage is gone, the car is gone. The repair guy that has taken care of Moms cars since 1960's is taking it apart and destroying the items for he feels that to put them in another car would cause terrible problems. Shame, shame on Chevy for building this car and not taking responsibility for it. Shame, shame, shame.. this is just terrible. People if you have a 2008 Chevrolet Aveo built from 2004 to 2009 get rid of it. Prayers and hopes no one else has this happen.
