Initially replaced egr valve in 1998, have replaced it 4 additional times (by Chevy dealer) within two years. Build-up of carbon in the engine causing stalling, shaking and failure of engine in traffic. Brakes tend to stick as well. Erroneously charged for two fuel injectors that were not needed due to misdiagnosis of problem. Car has sat for last 3 weeks while attempting to contact Chevy customer service at hq, was given promises of refunds, call backs and have not heard from anyone. Looked at this site and saw other owners with same problem, possible recall but we were not notified by the dealer or Chevrolet. In addition both rear seat belts stopped working nearly two years ago where our young son often sits. Seeking possible legal action for reimbursement, replacement of vehicle or final repair of defects.

Egr valve failed once at 54052 miles. Owner paid for repair. A few months later Chevrolet issued a recall for egr valve and reimbursed owner for cost of repair. 17719 miles later, at 71771 miles the egr valve failed again. Dealer and manufacturer both refused to accept any responsibility for installation of a faulty part, claims they have fulfilled their responsibility of recall. Anti-locking brake S ystem has failed, ABS light on dash illuminated while driving. Dealer inspects and states electronic brake control module has failed. A $1,600 repair is expected. Owner complains and has questions regarding performance of entire braking system. Owner had expressed problems and concerns with brakes while vehicle was still under warranty, dealer ignored complaints stating problems were "the nature of the beast". brake problems include, new pads at 25000 mile intervals, second set of rotors at 70722 miles, hard and stiff brake pedal, soft or slow response of brakes to pedal pressure, delayed response of brakes, ABS system engaging at inappropriate conditions. While vehicle was under warranty dealer did not address complaints or problems, now dealer and manufacturer claim vehicle is too old and with too many miles for them to consider any responsibility. Dealer claims there are no safety issues involved with braking system failures and poor performance.

I have owned this Chevrolet Blazer for 4 years. 1995 was first year for the vortex engine. I had an expensive repair of the cfi unit in July, 99 and now again 16 months later, cfi unit needs to be replaced along with the catalytic converter. There is also an ongoing problem with the egr valve. Chevrolet sent out a notice about problem, and I had my car serviced last March. But, same part was just replaced with a new one. If the valve is sticking the design of the valve should be correced. Carbon builds up again in the valve and this will be an ongoing problem. I sent a complaint to Chevrolet, but their letter back to me was a note to call the customer service. When I finally got through they said thanks for calling but nothing else. Overall, very disappointed with how this company is handling a problem that my mechanic says it is widespread. He has trouble getting the part since so many are needed!

Egr valve has failed. Was contacted by mail a couple of years age about a recall only if you were experiencing a problem. I was not. Now I am. The dealer says there is nothing they can do without the letter. The oil cooler lines have been replaced 3 times. Twice under warranty and once at my expense. They leak at the crimp after about 20000 miles.

When the egr valve sticks it results in poor drivability, engine surge/knock, rough idle and/or hard start. GM provided special warranty but consumer believes GM failed to mention the when the valve sticks open it creates a vacuum leak which has an impact on the power brakes. Nlm

You have numerous complaints on the 1995 Chevrolet Blazer...then why doesnt something be done about this vehicle....? I have been stranded 4 times with my children in the car....3 for the egr valve.. and now it just cranks and wont start....I have had this car for 14 months and this first started in June 1999 3 months after purchasing this car......look at all the complaints......a mechanic stated the egr valve is at a 45degree angle and should be at 90 degree angle so it does not clog.....I am in the process of filing a lawsuit against Chevrolet on this vehicle and everyone else should do the same.......it is just an overpriced piece of crap........1 that you cannot count on taking you to town... which is bad......
