Car was always slow to crank. It was worse in the summer after drving in traffic. If you shut off the car to get gas and tried to crank it, it would throw codes like stabilitrac, and shut off the rpms and go into limp mode. This was caused from a slow crank and the cam position sensor detecting a miss.
Its not a miss at all, its a slow crank when hot. You have to unplug the ECU harness by the fusebox to reset the computer. The solution was a bad ground on the passenger side of the block. The ground wire is mounted to a stud bolt, it did not contact the block at all, a hose clamp did. Flip flop this arrangement because the stud will corrode terribly in an aluminum block causing a poor ground. I put the ground to the block and then tightened the bolt. This increased voltage and corrected the slow start issue.
