This really started without warning.

Parking my car I turn the key to the off position and it will not go all the way to lock. The key stops at ACC and I can not turn it all the way or pull it out. So this leaves me with a dilemma, I cannot leave the car because the key is stuck in acc and anyone can jump in and ride off because the doors won't lock BECAUSE THE KEY IS IN THE IGNITION!

After playing with the shifter going from drive to park several times the key will release but often times that doesn't even work. I looked up on Google about any info on this problem and I am downright angry to read that so many people have this same problem with their Chevys.

I've seen Chevys from 2012 all the way to 2019 that are complaining about this same issue with no real fix. WTF no recall? Why the hell not?! I have loved Chevys all my adult life and I have owned many up till now. I am considering trading this junker for anything other then GM. I never in my life thought I would say this but this Chevy Captiva LTZ SUCKS. This problem is more than just a nuisance because it makes my property vulnerable to theft.

I considered myself very handy and know some mechanics. So If there is a way to correct this problem, please, someone let me know if there is anything I can do to get my key out?
