I have a 2014 Corvette Convertible Z51 3LT with the dash material pulling out and away from vent and around HUD well. Seems very weird and unusual especially for a vehicle that has only 12,500 miles on it! If you can see in the pictures, the material is coming apart and looks like HELL! What in the world would cause this to happen? The vehicle is garage kept and never abused. Nothing unusual has been done to the dash area. I can see someone else has the same or similar issue.
I have written to Chevrolet and complained - and asked for some assistance. I took the car to a GM dealer (I know and trust) for them to evaluate this and give me a repair estimate. Hold onto your hats - the estimate was for $3,600+!!! With my unqualified eye I can envision maybe removing the windshield thereby allowing free access to the damage zone. Possibly tucking the material carefully back into the seams and vent surrounds and even applying some adhesive under the material to insure it stays put. That's my guess... Any suggestions would be appreciated! I wonder if there are more out there with these issues?
