Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

It was snowing and I started my car to warm it up. I cleaned off the windows with my snow brush. Whenever I got into the car and turned on the wipers, they moved for a split second then stopped. I got out of the car and checked the wipers. They were moving freely. Nothing I did would make the wipers work. I went online and checked for problems with Chevy HHR windshield wipers and found that it's a known issue. On one website, Chevy, there even is a discussion board about the problem. It's the windshield wiper transmission and from everything I've read this happens between 60,00 and 85,000 miles on the HHR and Chevy cobalt. I was told that the repair is @$300 and I'm wondering why GM would make a vehicle that has a part that fails so easily.

While driving in rain wiper's stopped working after playing with switch and stopping pulling over in a safe place when traffic would let me I turned car key switch off and back on twice and they started working again after dealing with this more then one time drove car to a dealer after two days they tell me the main fuse box has a short in it and will need to be replaced I have a bumper to bumper extended coverage after talking with the dealer they are telling me this is not covered in warranty they also called the dealer were I bought it and they looked it up and said the same fuse box not covered so it will cost me over $600 to fix car I fill this is a safety relative item and should be covered ? if a short in this fuse box stopped wipers could it start a fire as well.
