The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu maxx. The contact stated that the power steering warning light would illuminate intermittently. Within moments, the power steering would fail. The dealer replaced the power steering column however, the failure persisted. The current and failure mileages were 107,000. Updated 05/24/10 the consumer stated he has almost several accidents due to the failure of the power steering. The consumer stated on one occasion, he hit a block of wood in the road and blew a tire, due to the power steering failure. Updated 05/28/10
