I have a 2001 Monte Carlo ss that I purchased about 4 years ago today. My complaint is about the turn signals not operating all the time. They will shut off while you make a turn while traffic is behind you, hopefully I will not get rear-ended some day. This has been happening for several years now and the people whom I spoke with also have own a Monte Carlo ss complain about this to. So I am not the only one that's having this problem. This is a very dangerous mechanical defect and needs special attention asap before some one gets injured or killed. What concerns me is that there has never been a recall on this automobile and addition there has been many complaints that I am aware of. Need assistance with this dangerous defect asap.

Turn signals fail intermittently. Pressing hazard warning switch off/on while/after placing turn signal in either (right/left turn) positions will eventually get the turn signals operating.

Turn signals only work some of the time and I feel this is a safety issue. At first they work but after a brief time of driving they stop working.

Ongoing problems with the turn signals not working and a continuous noise coming from the steering column/front end. Have had it to numerous mechanics and they cannot figure out the noise issue, ie its not a tie rod or a suspension issue.

On several occasions I have lost the use of my turn signals. It is very intermittent. A few times they have come back on, but most times not. I tried to compress the prongs holding the fuse, but the signals again failed a week or so later. They're working now, but I never know when they won't. in heavy traffic, this could be a serious problem.

Since purchase of car with 34,000 miles in March of 2002, there have been several problems. Check engine light came on around 50,000 miles, had it checked was given the code for temperature sensor. Had sensor changed, within six months light came on again. When checked was given same code for temperature sensor so I had it replaced a second time. Now periodically while driving the temperature gauge will drop completely and when turning off the ignition the fan will continue to run. The only way to stop the fan is to either unplug the fan or unhook the battery. Randomly when trying to start the car it will not start as if the battery is dead, but the radio and all lights still work. Had this checked but no problems could be found. After waiting for about ten minutes the car will start. The only explanation I was given was that maybe the computer system thinks I am attempting to steal my own car. Then there are the turn signals, when you turn on the signal it will work for a few seconds then stop. The only way I have found to make them work again is to turn on the hazard flashers for a few seconds then turn on the signal again. There have been so many problems with this vehicle and with no warranty left it is rather costly and frustrating.
