CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 has an early trend of the transmission shifting hard, surging & jerking.

At the moment these trucks are still under warranty. However this transmission problem shows up right away with the average reported mileage only around 3,000 miles, so for now the 2017 Silverado earns our "Beware of the Clunker" badge.

It shakes enough to spill a beverage. It starts shaking at 60 mph. It's very annoying, and from what I hear it could be dangerous.

Never mind. It is just absurd how a 43k dollar car is so flawed.

Silverado 1500 LT 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,447 miles

My truck since new, bounces as though shocks are weak or bad. This is my 4th Z71 Package with Rancho shocks and none of the previous trucks bounce so easily at normal speeds.

I notified the dealer and they claim it is normal, but I know better.

Anyone else experiencing the same problem?

- Sean C., Charleston, US
