This is the Duramax diesel (engine code LLY) which has some problems, but I will focus on this one. My head gasket blew around the #7 cylinder which also took a chunk of the head with it. I do run a performance program to help with the towing, but it is set at the lowest rating. A owner of a well respected diesel repair shop insured me the performance program did not cause this problem. It just seems to me this shouldn't have happened at this lower mileage.
