Tahoe LS 3.8L

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

I bought my Tahoe in 2007, I loved it and had never had any problems with it until July of 2013, all of the sudden my stabilitrak light came on and my traction control light, my engine light, and oil light basically every light that came on, I took it to the Chevy dealership and they told me they didn't know what it was after having it for a week, so they suggested they can take the engine out to check it, but wanted to charge me $1500.00 and they stated that if it's not the engine then I would have to pay for the labor of them putting it back together, and then they would charge me to look at something else.

Now if I'm taking it into the body shop for mechanics to work on it shouldn't they know what it is? It was basically like they didn't care or want to answer my questions. After that I got my plugs changed and oil changes on time and it was still messing up. My truck jerks into first gear and acts like it wants to shut off. What I'm really upset and pissed about was when I was going to the mall with my daughter and the jerking was so bad that smoke was coming out of it and my truck cut off on the highway where the speed limit was 70, my daughter and I almost got killed by a semi. So now I'm to the point where if someone doesn't give me an answer I will get a lawyer and take this matter to court!!! When it starts involving the safety of my child's life THAT'S A BIG PROBLEM!

All these men mechanics that work at Chevy's body shops and "So Called" know about cars and fixing them and not one yet has been able to tell me anything, they just want to keep charging me like I have money to Sh*t Out!! WHY THE HELL DO YOU WORK IN A BODY SHOP THEN!!!!! That's what I really want to know. No one has been able to tell me what's wrong with my truck and I'm not spending anymore money to try to fix the problem. I will just go over the manager's head and take this issue to court. If you don't care about my problem and the lives that it almost took because of the issue, no one wants to help with and try to solve, then I don't care about suing your company. I've been stressing to everyone about this since July 2013 and not Chevy, nor Auto Zone, Langs Chevy, different dealerships can solve it, and what it's gonna take is for someone to actually get killed because of Stabilitrak and Traction and then maybe they will start taking it seriously!!!!! NOW RECALL THAT!

Tahoe LT 5.3L

I bought this 2007 Chevy Tahoe from Markville Chevy in Markham, Ontario, Canada on 19 September 2006 with most of the "bells & whistles" for over $70,000.00 with a warranty period.

Within 10 months and during warranty period, I have had several minor issues which were fixed by the dealer. However, there was one particular problem which kept cropping up, (Code P0172, which, according to the reader indicated that the fuel was too rich)). "Service Stabilitrak" or Stabilitrak off along with engine light illuminating intermittently whilst driving. Whenever this light illuminates, especially at low gears, the transmission would jerk or seem to go offline until that light turns off automatically.

I was advised by the dealership that I had to bring in the vehicle whenever the light remained on continuously. On several occasions, I took in the vehicle at the dealership and a technician with an instrument reader indicated that the computer indicated that the fuel was too rich and there was some adjustment to a "thingy" in the bowels of the engine which should have resolved the problem. On other occasions, I was advised that I should try purchasing gas from different gas stations which would resolve the problem when I can get gas with the least amount of ethanol. I tried the ESSO, SHELL, PETRO CANADA, SUNOCO (which later became Petro Canada) and a few other small gas outlets but to no avail. I even tried another GM Dealership, LEGGAT CHEVY OLDS, in a bid to have this problem resolved, but to no avail. Recently, I have been seeing the engine light Illuminating and, according to the computer reader, it shows code P2A01 which indicates that there was a problem with 'Bank 1 Sensor 2 - Range Performance. I have changed both of these sensors on 2013/02/20 and on 2009/27/10 - there are 4 sensors on this vehicle and only these 2 seemed to be a problem.

I shall return to the original dealership, again, to have this resolved but I am not holding my breath.

Comments anyone ( Of course, constructive comments that would enable me to resolve this "fuel too rich" issue) ?

Stabilitrak light coming on and off, engine loses power and causes transmission to jerk.

This is a serious problem and Chevy dealers are clueless about it or how to fix it. They do not know what causes it and the dealers give the customers several different answers at several different dealers; Why? Because they are clueless!, like I said.

They give over 10 reasons for this! This is unacceptable and ridiculous! Then they want to charge the customer big $$$ when they don't even fix the problem! You mean to tell me that there isn't one certified chevy mechanic who doesn't know why this is happening? WOW!!! Anyway, Chevy won't due anything about it until someone gets killed or paralyzed and gets a highpowered lawyer...pretty sad. It's obviously not cost effective. This is rthe first real problem I have had with the vehicle (2007 TAHOE) and will be the last. I really like the SUV, but I am not going to play the "guessing game" in getting it fixed, as nobody knows how to fix it, and watch my $$$ go "out the window." When you look on the internet, you see this is a serious and prevalent problem with theses vehicles!

This light goes off at the slightest turn or a piece of gravel. The engine light isn't coming on and it isn't accompanied with any steering or transmission problems. Just a general noisy PITA that disables traction control and stabilitrak. The Chevrolet dealer said that it was a $275 sensor but when I attempted to locate and buy it else were I was told there is no "sensor" for this.

I am so disgusted with this Tahoe of mine. Since December 2011 I've been having problems with the stabilitrak being off. For the first time just on yesterday it completely shut down in traffic on me. I had to be pushed to the side of the road by some really nice people. I tried re starting but got nothing. After letting it sit for 5 minutes it started back up as if nothing was wrong. I consider this to be a danger and the Chevrolet company needs to recall these vehicles immediately before someone is seriously hurt. At my wits end and don't know what to do. Please help if anyone hears me out there.

On Saturday, 10/30/11 my truck stabilitrak system light came on and my husband reported the truck driving weird. He has tried all the suggestions in the vehicle manual to see if the problem would correct itself, and the stabilitrak light is still on along with the engine light.

From the other complaints listed about the stabilitrak system, it is concerning me that when I take my truck in to be serviced, I will be told that they can't determine the problem, which can become very costly if I have to keep taking my vehicle in for the same problem.

I want to what the answer is to fix the problem and that be the correct solution to the problem. Work to hard to waste money to keep fixing the same problem.

My vehicle was driving fine and now it isn't, from the other complaints read on this sight makes me wonder if this should be a recall issue.

I will be taking my truck in this Friday to see what the problem is and hopefully will get an inexspensive answer. It is already costing me Over $80 just for them to put it on a diagnostic machine.

Tahoe LT 5.7L V8

I am experiencing problems with my 2007 Tahoe.ln mid December, the "stabilitrak off" light came on and all of the gauges went all the way to the left and the doors locked. When I parked the vehicle, it would take a while before it would restart. Took the vehicle to Ryan Chevrolet on Thursday, Dec 16, 2010 and they couldn't find the problem. They kept it all day. It happened again two days later and one of the service personnel told me that they were busy and to bring it in the next morning. Mortified, I had my husband follow me 35 miles to another store, Courtesy Chrevrolet in Ruston, La. The mechanic told my husband and me that there were several damaged wires in the wiring harness beneath the dash.

That cost me about $300 to repair those wires. Two days later, the same thing happened again!! "Stabilitrak off "light came on and all gauges shifted to the left. I had it towed back to Courtesy two days later and the same mechanic told my husband that he found two more loose wires. This is the next day and I am afraid to drive the darn thing!!!

Tahoe LS 5.3L V8

Our Tahoe only has 80000 miles and it has started flashing all these stabilitrak and traction control lights. The dealership seems to know less than I know. We were told to change spark plugs, O2 sensors, and this has not worked. Check engine light stays on all the time. Stabilitrak /Traction control turns off and on periodically, sometimes when you hit a bump or turn a corner with the brake applied. When these codes come on transmission shifts hard between 1st and 2nd gear. Wish I had bought a Toyota or Honda.

the stabilitrac light came on only a week after I bought this truck used GM certified. Also every time the fuel gets to 1/8 of a tank the truck acts as if it is running out of gas! Stuttering and no power. Both problems happen in conjunction with each other. I also have a 2007 Silverado and the same thing is happening and they can't figure it out!!

This problem just started this week, and the dealer advised that it was not a big deal or a hazard to continue to drive the vehicle. However, since the initial light starting coming on, the vehicle is now showing a check engine light. I am planning on taking the vehicle to the dealer this coming Monday, so we will have to wait and see what comes of the problem.

Man I've experienced this problem more than once!! The first time it happened the "stabilitrak off" light came on, traction control off, my speedometer and gauges went haywire, the locks started tripping, and once I pulled over and cut the truck off...the truck wouldn't start. Also I couldn't get my back lift gate to open. I took it to a dealership who kept it a week and found nothing wrong with it. I got it back for the weekend and the damn thing started doing it again. I took it back again and they kept it for a few days and still no answer.

A few months later it happened again! This time my check engine light and my ABS light came on along with all the other crazy warnings (Stabilitrak off/Traction control, etc.). What the hell is wrong with my truck?!!!

I hadn't had it a year before the first situation, and I've had it maybe 18 months now and have experience it 4 times already!!!

I started to receive "Service Stabilitrak / Traction Control" indicators back in Jan of 09.

Soon after that, the engine light would come on. I took it in, the adviser said the engine light was due to the gas cap not being tightened properly. Are you kidding me? I'm a grown woman that has put enough gas in her car to last a lifetime! But whatever, it went away.

Not more than 2 days later, they were both back ok. Eventually, I started to feel this awful jerking as the gears would change.

Took the car back in (4 times) and this has still not changed. Well, I guess something did change. The "Service Stabilitrak" light is no longer on.....it now says "Stabilitrak Off" and "Traction Control Off" AND the engine light is blinking.

It's in the shop now--again. And this may just have to be the last time before I start demanding a replacement. This is getting ridiculous...
