I don't know there was a problem with the glass falling out of my 2005 crossfire until I ask on line if anyone else had this problem. I called Chrysler about it they said I had to go and let my dealership check it out then call them back, well I did all that. When they called me back they told me that when the one corner came unglued I should have had the top replaced but I don't want to spend $2000.00 on a new top when it don't need one and only thing wrong was one corner or the window was falling out. So I had it glued together. Then one day I went out to go somewhere and the window had fallen out expect for the part that was glued, who new the rest of the window would fall out. Now Chrysler want fix it, and the letters I have been reading I.m not the only one with this problem. The guy in FL. that is getting his Attorney wonder if he would help all of us to get this problem fixed. or tell us what we can do, there is hundreds of us out there.
I think Chrysler should do a recall and they should fix this problem. I'm going to get up with my NC Attorney General and see what he says. I am at a loss, I have this nice car that I care about and then this happens, I worked hard for my money so one day I would be able to have nice things like this, this should not have happen, you are right it is a pain in my ass.
If any one out there as an idea pass it on to all of us with this problem. Thx to all that let me know I was't the only one with this problem.

Bought This Car in July of '07 it only had 8,000 on it when I bought it. I have always loved this car and take very good care of it. No one has ever driven it but me, it is always kept in a garage, even at work and still looks and smells brand new ! However while driving to work the other morning I heard some kind of rattleing or flaping sound that seemed to be coming from the passanger side rear of the car. Imagine my surprise when I got to work and examaned the car only to find that the rear window was becoming detatched from the convertable top. It was fine the night before when I put the car in my garage. I called the dealership only to be told there was nothing to be done other than to replace the whole top to the tune of about $3000.00 There is nothing else wrong with the top and as I mentioned it still looks BRAND NEW.
Aparently I am not the only one who has this problem. It is obviously a blatent lack of responsability for Chrysler not to address this issue. I think we should all band together and bring a class action suit against them, maybe then the least they would do is recall this car for repairs.

Came home one afternoon and looked at the car, the back glass had came unglued from the vinyl top! It has been this hot before, but it has never done this. Called the car dealer, they said it was not covered under any warranty or recall. Apparently several ppl are having this problem. We was told we would have to go to a specialty shop and see if it could be fixed. After reading some of the comments, it looks like I will be told the same thing--new top! Chrysler really needs to take care of their customers better than this. If it is happening to this many cars-it is obviously a manufacturing default. I had a Lebarron convertible in the past and NEVER had this problem. Chrysler, this is a good way to loose a lot of customers. I loved my lebarron.

It really is upsetting for so many consumers to spend hard-earned money on a vehicle and then have the back glass come lose and fall out. It's simply poor design- a thin line of glue between the fabric top and the glass was the only thing holding it in place to start with. What a joke! And of course the only option the dealer gives me is to spend nearly 2 grand for a new top.
Thanks, I like this website.

Convertible rear glass is coming unglued, Chrysler dealer will not fix, wants to put on new top, $ 2500..... with me being out of my car 5 weeks. The car is in excellent condition, the top is in excellent condition. This is a manufacture defect and should be a recall.

I've had this awesome, sweet ride for a exactly one year now. I get nothing but stares and compliments on it. I love it! However, I'm getting more and more angry with Chrysler the more I read about this problem.
While driving on the highway I started to hear this flapping sound and got concerned. Thinking that perhaps the top hadn't clicked in correctly I attempted to open the top as soon as I got home. My fiance yells "STOP" while it's opening and notices that back window had come unglued. Our first thought was that this incredible FL heat had melted it. I had just been recently crashed into on the passenger side, it was also time for an oil change so I took it to the dealer. 3 birds with one stone, right? WRONG! Apparently my extended warranty, while it includes the top, does NOT cover this window issue and it will cost from $2500-3000 to replace!! The dealer tells me that there is a local shop that can reglue it for $300-350 or that I can call my insurance and put in a claim. So basically either way I'm paying out of pocket for what I'm now learning is a manufacturer defect?!?!
I have put in a call to Chrysler and I am waiting to hear back from them on this issue. This is just unacceptable that something that is a defect cannot be covered under warranty. At the very least Chrysler should either issue a recall on it or offer to repair or replace for free. This is not right! Perhaps issues like this and not taking care of their customers is that they are doing so poorly!
I'm ready to just grab crazy glue and go wild! I know that won't help, but it will release some stress and frustration.
However, I will go to the site mentioned on one of the posts and put in a complaint. Maybe all us Floridians can get some resolution for this issue if we band together!
I still love the car, though.

I'm very disappointed that Chrysler will not do anything about this problem. If you won't stand behind your product why should we support you then? I've been a loyal American Car buyer and have only driven Chrysler's. In fact, I have never bought anything but Chrysler's or Eagle when they were in business. It pains me to say this, but I will never buy another Chrysler again either and i feel that they should no longer be in business. I have owned 8 in my lifetime and currently have three in my driveway. I love all of my cars but this convertible top issue is far too common for Chrysler not to acknowledge the defect and fix it. I work for BMW and they stand by their products, unfortunately Chrysler doesn't. Maybe we shouldn't have bailed them out. Either way, I would still have the same problem. NO HELP FROM THE MANUFACTURER.

Have had my 2005 Conv Crossfire for 2 years now, regular maintenance by dealership, low milage, taken extremely good care of, in excellent condition. Then the back glass window starts to come unglued for no apparent reason. Tried to get "good will" help from Chrysler as the fix is a whole new top and costly. Have received two calls back with two different reasons why they are unable to do anything for me. Dealership appears to be of little help too (just lost future biz). I've been asked about my car nearly EVERY time I've been out driving and only raved about the car, the dealer, etc......that's all changed now! Chrysler get a grip - this is gonna cost you more than just doing the right thing and fixing YOUR defect!!! I am over and out with Chrysler and ready to spread the word!!

I own a 2005 Convertible Crossfire. The back glass has come unglued and the dealer is stating there is no fix. It has to be replaced. I contacted Chrysler only to be told it was my problem. They will not pay any portion of it to be replaced.
I have two Chrysler products which will be the last cars I ever buy from Chrysler. Anyone who is looking for customer service and a good product is shopping at the wrong dealership . RUN!

Auto Zone or Advance Auto have the tape and adhesive
Use 3M double sided tape about 1/2 or 3/4 inch. 3/4 better. Same type of tape used to secure a front hood deflector.
3m Black Super Weatherstrip Adhesive, part # 03602. Use an adhesive not a silicon base.
Clean window with acetone of dirt and grim.
Rough up the top with sand paper or I used a Dremel with a medium grit sand drum. Be careful not to grind into the top. Just rough up the surface.
Place tape onto window. Run a bead onto the tape side fitting to the top and another bead of adhesive onto the top. Try to be neat with the adhesive.
Push window to top and support with something that will place pressure. I used Styrofoam foam packing from a box. The goal is to place pressure onto the window and top.
Keep for a day to set.
Run a bead of the same adhesive on both the inside and outside area where glass meets top. Similar to how you run caulking around tub. do it neatly and take your time. Not an easy task on the inside because of the back bending position your body will be.
Good Luck.
My top has been good for over a year and the car is in Florida.
Another trick is to hold the top when it goes down into the truck. Hold window when it comes up vertical till it appears to flat in the truck. This prevents the top part of the window to separate from the top. Do the same when the top comes up.

The rear glass window has come unglued on my 2005 Crossfire convertible. This has been a nightmare. I have called various repair shops and I'm told that I'm not alone but they can't fix it in their shops as it must be shipped back to the manufacturer for repair. I have been quoted prices that are rediculous, in the thousands.
We purchased the extended warrenty only because we were buying an electric rag top and felt it might have problems in the future. Of course this was discussed during the time of the sale but when I called the dealership they informed me that it was not covered.
I have called Chryster and was unable to speak with the right person...left a message....this was months ago and I still haven't heard from them.
Good Luck to all having this problem!

If you own a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire convertible then check the rear window in the top. There is a good chance it is coming unglued and will fall out. Please go to www.safercar.gov and file a complaint. If they get a number of complaints then they will issue a recall.

This is a great car, but 3 months out of warranty the rear window became delaminated from the top. This is a serious problem that Chrysler is aware of yet offers no assistance. I have 60K in Chrysler products in my driveway because although I am a career Acura/Honda master technician I firmly believe in buying american. But I am starting to believe that we should have bought a Honda S2000 as Honda would have fixed this problem, issued a product update and goodwilled a repair to anyone this close to the end of the warranty. Especially a 3,800 dollar repair. I feel burned by Chrysler and just hope I have no problems with my 2006 Grand Cherokee SRT-8.

THIS IS THE LETTER I JUST SENT CERTIFIED TO THE PRESIDENT OF CHRYSLER ROBERT NARDELLI
Robin O'Hearn June 23, 2008
Dear Robert Nardelli,
I am writing this letter to inform you of what I have been through with the 2005 Chrysler Crossfire convertible I purchased 3/21/08 from Exotic Motors in Tarpon Springs, FL. On 6/14/08 I went to get into the car and noticed the back window came out/unglued. I called Geico and that's where it all started they said I had a $500.00 deductible. I thought I could just go to Firkins Chrysler and have it glued back in for less. Went there and they said it was a MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT but sent me to there glass person Manatee Auto Trim Inc. he looked at it and said the same thing MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT and would not fix it as he has done 3-4 in the past few months and they don't take. That in it self should tell you something. So my husband called Chrysler on 6/16/08 spoke with Mark he stated they would be willing to do a good will replacement, so the next day 6/17/08 I took the car back to Firkins they put in a work order and informed me the car tops were back ordered. My husband the called Chrysler 6/17/08 and spoke with Millie who was VERY rude and told my husband under no circumstance would Chrysler pay for that as it cost too much. When he told her just the day before he spoke with Mark and he said he would do the good will replacement she said no way. I then met with my Geico adjuster and he also said they would not cover it as it is A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. He took pictures and gave me his report, which states it is a MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT, he advised me to sue Chrysler. I called Chrysler myself on 6/18/08 spoke with Richard who was very rude, abrupt, and indifferent and told me to do what I had to do but he was not going to help me.
To sum this letter up I have contacted the Florida Attorney General's office and filed a complaint. They have been very helpful, putting me in the in touch with who I need to help me. I have also contacted a Lawyer who is willing to take my case. I can not begin to tell you how frustrated, disappointed and angry I am as I have been a LOYAL Chrysler customer for years. This is my 3rd and LAST Chrysler. I just wanted you to know how the people who work for you are treating your customers. I have never sued anyone in my life. I feel as though I have no other recourse. I have been told by numerous professionals that it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AS IT IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT.
Thank-you in advance,
Sincerely
