Our sunroof exploded today (May 8, 2023) with no warning while sitting at a red light. Nothing hit the glass. Luckily the shade was pulled closed so no glass fell on us. It was a loud explosion. The car was taken to the dealer, Jenkins Hyundai in Leesburg FL.
Left home around 520am for work, within 1 mile sunroof exploded. It was approximately 30 degrees outside. I was fortunate because the cover was shut, so no glass hit me. Hyundai has replaced it at no cost. I was told there have been 36 instances and a service bulletin was put out.
The sunroof randomly exploded while on the interstate driving for 2 mins. There was no other cars or trucks around me driving when this incident occurred. Driving 60 mph. Sounded like a gunshot.
The sunroof of my Hyundai palisade Calligraphy shattered on its own on the very second day of owning it. This seems to be a common issue with sunroof on Hyundai palisade.
