Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. The failure recurred on the passenger side seat. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 136,000.

The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Sonata gls. When she reached over in the direction of the passenger seat, the drivers seat turned around. The driver seat also moved forward and trapped her in between the steering wheel and the seat. Her right ribs were fractured. She took the vehicle to the dealer who stated that the seat functioned as it should. A report was filed with the manufacturer; however, they didn┐T offer any assistance. A local mechanic disconnected the fuse to the drivers seat. The failure mileage was 45,000 and the current mileage was 46,000.

The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. While the contact was exiting the vehicle, the driver seat began to move forward and pinned the contact between the seat and steering wheel for four hours. The contact stated that the power adjust switch, radio and panic button on the remote would not function. The contact called the dealership and the dealer stated that they would replace the power seat switch. The VIN and failure mileage were unavailable at the time of the complaint.

The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. The drivers seat would sway from side to side. The dealer informed him he would have to contact the manufacturer before any repairs could be performed on the vehicle. Upon contacting the manufacturer, he was advised that the dealer relayed to them that there were no failures with the drivers seat. He was told a representative would further inspect the vehicle; however the dealer refused to contact the representative. The contact was awaiting the arrival of parts in order to have the repairs performed. He was concerned with the possibility of injury in the event of a crash, due to the failure. The failure mileage was 31,000 and the current was unknown.
