When driving my check engine light will blink on and quickly go off and as this happens the car feels like it stalled but then comes back. It all happens in a fast second. Sometimes if I've been idling at a stop light too long the car will just die and the check engine light comes on but when you turn the car off and back on everything is just fine.

The computer is NOT storing any codes that come on when the check engine light comes on. Once a month or every other month I get the check engine light to stay on while driving. I've taken it to dealerships and get a code of P0605 which is the ICM ,but no one seems to want to replace it because when you turn the car off, then turn it back on the engine light goes off and there is no code stored.

I took it to the dealership where they cap discharged the car and reset everything. It worked for a week before I had that "cut off" feeling when driving. Right now I am in limbo and waiting for the check engine light to stay on again. I found a dealership that is willing to help me out and even if it happens at 5pm they will stay there until i get there to run a diagnostic so we can finally figure out what is going on.

The only way I can describe what the car feels like when it "cuts out" is that it is similar to the way your brain works. You have all these firing synapses and if something interrupts it for even a minute second you get a pause before it fires up again. Also when the car dies at a stop light, you don't even realize it. The check engine light just comes on and the car dies but the radio and lights stay on.

Update from May 1, 2018: After months of taking it into the dealership and them not being able to figure it out, I took it back again and told them to keep it and drive it home until they see the problem with their own eyes. It took 1 night and they were able to diagnos it with exactly what I told them it would be. I need a new PCM. When the technician drove it the car jerked a few times and there was no code stored by the time he got it to his house. When he took it back to work in the morning he found a history code of P0605 but not an active code. They still have no idea why codes are not being stored but they are saying there is a short in the PCM so we are changing that out.

esc light & check eng light come on and car stalls

The key here is that when the check engine light came on the dealer could not get any error codes off the vehicle. Dealer says Hyundai Corp. told them the reason they could not pull any codes that the ABS control module is not "communicating" and needs to be replaced for 2,300! My problem is dangerous because the car shuts off while driving. It has even happened on the freeway. All the complaints on here just say that their ESC light comes on. I wish that was my problem.
