Got a recall from Isuzu about my 2000 Rodeo for spring shackle poss. Rusting. Took to them they returnde my call the next day and they told me to come and get my stuff out of it because they were condemming the Rodeo. When I got there my car was still on the rack and he showed me were 18 inches of the frame rail was rusted thru. They told me some one from Isuzu.would get a hold of me in a couple days. 10 days later there was a message on my phone. To please call them back about my Isuzu. When I called the told me the could offer $1006 for it. I've was a mechanic for 32 years and done all the repairs since I bought it in 2007. I was shocked. And mad. The guy I talked to told me to go get the car. I said it was condemned by Isuzu. He said that's ok they won't warranty anymore if I picked it up. Now I don't have a car because I'm on disabled and I can't afford a car payment. I have not taken any money from them and waiting for more money from them.

I have a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo, I was online looking for a part to replace when I stumbled upon the newest recall of the rear mounting brackets rusting off of the frame. I immediately brought my car to the closest Isuzu service center without the recall letter that I am supposed to get from Isuzu, yet still haven't. the dealer brought my car in and within a 30min it was back out in the parking lot. The desk manager said I need a stage 4 repair for the brackets but then told me they would call when they had the availability; they said it would at least two months before they could fit me in! I asked if it was safe to drive and the guy simply said it should be alright, what kind of response is that. I took it to my mechanic who then put it up on the lift and the whole vehicle frame is rusted! there is no way new brackets are going to make anything better. Pieces of frame are just falling off my truck. This is a huge safety issue and needs to be fixed, just replacing the mounting brackets is absolutely pointless and doesn't address the real issue being the whole frame's defectiveness.

Pulled out of the parking lot on my way to work and heard a very loud scraping noise. Drove about 100 feet down the road but my Rodeo began to fish tail and was not drivable. Pulled over and looked underneath to find the driver's side rear suspension bracket had completely broken off the frame. Called Isuzu recall number and was set up with a dealer 2 hours away and a tow truck came to pick up my Rodeo and bring it to be fixed at the dealership.

  • 93,033 miles
2000 Isuzu Rodeo ls mileage 93,033 purchased 7/2000 the frame is rotting away on the right side of the Rodeo the vehicle was rust proofed for the first 5 years by Z-bart till they closed down the frame has rotting away on the bottom flat of the frame tubbing. This is happening on the right (passenger) side, of the 2000 Rodeo. The area that has rotted away are as follow from the rear axel support to the front axel support, on the right side (passenger) frame arch of the left rear axel support by the fuel fill tube. The frame has been repaired by having 1/4" steel cut and welded into a "U" channel that fits around three sides of the exciting frame tubbing. Undercoating the inside of the U-channel before welding to the top of the frame tubbing that is still solid. This will reinforce the frame. The 1/4" steel is thicker than the original frame tubbing.
