Because Isuzu has closed many dealerships, many independent shops are unaware of this problem and attempt to get you to put in a new water pump and timing belt. These hoses and seals start deteriorating after 100,000 miles. I suppose I was lucky but the engine tended to run hot in hot weather due to pressure loss. It is great now. Also do not ever operate Trooper with a loose battery cable as this can cause transmission problems and I have wrecked at least 1 starter because I was unaware a battery-clamp bolt had broken. Must have perfect electrical connection.
