Purchased this 2019 forte and really liked the car until it was stolen and that's when police officer told me that these car are getting stolen regularly because they don't come with immobilizer anti theft systems so they are very easy to steal. In fact there is an online competition video showing people how to steal these cars. The car was trashed and damaged when stolen. A week later the car was found and the insurance company did not want to salvage it but instead only decided to fix the body damage which cost around 8k. Now I'm having engine issues after it was stolen and insurance does not want to fix that and blames that on car defect. I'm so irritated with Kia because of this. Vehicle value has dropped significantly and no one wants to buy them.
Apparently Kia vehicles 2012-2020 are getting stolen regularly so DO NOT BUY THESE CARS.
I had a friend with a 2014 forte that got his Kia stolen broken into and he needed to pay for repairs himself because he didn't have full insurance coverage. Kia does not offer to repair broken windows and steering columns although its technically a factor defect.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
