My 2014 Kia Optima over the summer began consuming oil, and it has increased from 1 L every 2000 miles to now 1L every 950 Miles in 4 months. Kia has confirmed piston scoring with a boroscope and had a inconclusive result on compression test, but denies it has anything to do with the connecting rod bearing wear/failure. I ask, then why is it scoring? I have had all the sensors installed and there has been no knocking - however they denied engine replacement in the Warranty Dept. when the "Engineer Dept." has recommended an engine replacement, as it appears my engine is destined for failure.
Should I not be entitled to an engine? How is 950 Miles/litre acceptable?
