Antenna cover screws broke off, nearly flush with the base/mount. It is a known issue with various Optima year models, but they only started the recall for this issue for the 2016 and up. Plenty of internet forums prove that earlier models have the exact same issue. The issue appears that either inferior screw materials were used or these were over tightened during assembly. Kia will not sell just a replacement cover. You have to buy the entire antenna assembly for $100+ just to get the cover.
