The turn signal occasionally worked properly, but sometimes it would either not work at all or would signal the wrong direction. Kia had a recall on this, so we brought it in to get fixed. They updated the software and that did not fix it. Then they replaced the turn signal arm. This fixed the problem. However, within a few months new problems arose with that turn signal arm which caused the headlights to go out sometimes when we used the turn signal (but that is a separate, but similar complaint).
