I needed to add 2 quarts of oil before my last oil change, and there were no signs of a leak. I saw a cloud of smoke at the end of April and made appointment to have the dealer diagnose the problem. Turns out that the piston rings are fried (which explains the 2 quarts of oil), but the warranty of 100,000 miles will not cover the issue. When I contacted the dealer and the 3rd party warranty company, they both pointed the finger to the other guy.
Why am I getting the run-around when the vehicle has a 100,000 wrap coverage, and the maintenance is clearly documented.... mostly thru the dealership where the car was purchased? (Which closed a few months back). Research on the internet shows this case many times, and some were approved. Also, was told by the 3rd party warranty company that the manufacturer has had many issues like this and are not approving repairs because they don't have enough engines to approve replacement or repair.
Any suggestions....???
