Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

Ptu (power transfer unit) which is a nonservisable unit fails and has been on numerous vehicles. This failur has the potential of causing a serious accident due to it possibly locking up and causing a vehicle lose of control. I drive on the highway and didn't notice an issue until I slowed down to get off when I heard a grinding noise. Transmission shop told me I was lucky mine didn't lock up.

MKX 6-cyl

Transmission slipping, then slamming into gear. Like everyone that has this problem, and there are many Ford edge and Lincoln Mkx forums on various web sites have been complaining about this problem. Take it to the dealer and they cant find any problem. Or they say it is normal, are they for taking the tsb info to them this week and see what they say. Dont they even read these tsb reports? here is five that I have found so far. Tsb 10-21-2 10-9-9 11-5-6 11-12-10 sb-21430 never seen anything on the service write up about these tsb issues after I picked up my Mkx. They reset the computer and send you on your way and it will run fine for a thousand miles and start the slip and slam again. It will not happen all the time and that is the problem when you take it back to the dealer for service. Working with Ford customer relations center on this issue.
