Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

problem #1

Sep 152005

Town Car 8-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6,138 miles

The engine died/stalled. The first time it occurred was on September 15, 2005. The vehicle was towed to a dealership. They changed the fuel pump. It happened again on October 3. the contact was able to restart it, but it died again. He was able to restart it and slowly got it to the dealership. They replaced two fuel injectors, and two spark plugs. Afterwards they test drove the vehicle and the check engine light came on. They found the vacuum line had not been connected. The contact was concerned that the problem will reoccur. Updated 11/29/05.
