Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

2006 Lincoln Zephyr. Consumer writes in regards to problem with brakes the consumer stated upon arriving at an intersection, he applied the brake, and the pedal nearly went to the floor, the ABS seemed to activate as he moved into the intersection. The consumer noticed the ABS was in control, as he tried to brake. The mechanic checked the brake system, including the brake fluid level, which was normal. The mechanic took the vehicle for a test drive and noticed the brake pedal nearly went to the floor, after which the ABS activated. The mechanic saw a heavy accumulation of ice/snow toward the inside section behind the right front wheel. The mechanic suggested letting the snow/ice thaw. Once it thawed, the braking system returned to normal. Updated 02/24/12
