Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

There is a major gas in my car. The spell is there 100% of the time. When you come within 20 feet of the get the overwhelming gas spell. I'm afraid to drive the car at all now. I'm a single father on full disability, with a 16 year old daughter with no mother. I can't afford the gas which doubled due to the gas leak. More importantly...I can't drive my daughter to school...anywhere.

The contact owns a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant. The vehicle was purchased in 2001. She smelled a strong gasoline odor in the interior and exterior of the vehicle. She also noticed a steady leak of gasoline in the fuel tank area of the vehicle. Previously the evaporator hose was leaking and an independent mechanic repaired the hose with fuel system clamps. The vehicle was towed to a dealer due to the safety risk. The dealer confirmed that there was a recall for the same year, make and model; however, her VIN was not a part of (NHTSA campaign id number: 01V069000). The failure and current mileages were less than 113,000.
