Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

Right rear tire hit hole or bump in parking. Activated anti-lock braking for first time since buying car in 2001. Lost steering control at same time. Couldn't turn it. Stopped before entering highway. Put car in park; then drive and slowly took off. Steering returned to normal. Dangerous situation if I was in traffic or meeting another vehicle while attempting to exit parking lock. Faint odor of fuel. No obvious leak on ground.

The contact owns a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant. When the vehicle was started, the engine would shut off. All of the warning indicator lights illuminated. The failure also occurred while driving between 5-35 mph. There was a loss of power steering, but the brakes still operated. The repair shop stated that the crankshaft position and camshaft sensors needed to be replaced. No repairs were made. The manufacturer stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number 00V299001 (engine and engine cooling:engine). The current and failure mileages were 103,000.
