Heater control valve goes out a lot in these cars. The valve is behind the dash and the entire dash must be remove to replace it. This is a very time and money consuming replacement. I suggest only replacing valve by a professional otherwise you risk the possibility of damaging other sensitive parts in the dash. Without the heater control valve there will be no heat in your car. Beware this is a very very common problem in Galant's.
