The contact owns a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero. While driving at approximately 25 mph, the contact applied pressure to the brake pedal but the brakes did not engage. The brakes were applied repeatedly and the vehicle would not slow down. The anti-lock braking system and brake warning light indicators illuminated followed by the warning chime sounding inside of the vehicle. The emergency brake was then engaged and the vehicle came to a complete stop. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where the technician informed that the failure was contributed to the brake booster and ABS electronic control unit. The defective components were replaced. The failure and current mileages were approximately 120,000.
