I have a 2000 Voyager whose A/C unit has completely died. I will have to replace the system at a cost of starting $1,200 plus replacing the belts. I have 75,000 miles on it. I do drive my car which is only two year old. If you check in the the history of my car you will see that I have had many problems: Leaking engine, tire replaced at 30,000 miles, battery 2X, pullie replace, break switch, sun clips 2X and still broken etc.
