Brake lights will illuminated - when the brake paddle is pushed up the brake lights will turn off for a short time and than illuminate again. This happens when the vehicle is stationary, in motion, on a city street and on the highway.

The contact owns a 2009 Pontiac G8. While driving 65 mph, the contact noticed that the brake light remained illuminated. The stability control warning light also illuminated. The failures occurred frequently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 09V172000 (service brakes, air, tires). The failure mileage was 75,000.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the rotors and calipers needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. However, the failure recurred.
